Hello everyone, this is Gemy the owner of Studio 39 Salon and we are excited to announce we are re-opening! We will open Downtown May 16th and Lakewood May 19th. Here are things we will do at both salons to re-open as safely as possible.
Good Phone Communication Required For Booking & Curbside Check In
We are flooded with appointment requests and everyone wants in ASAP but a concern we have is phone communication. With texting and social media, we realize people don’t answer phone calls as often. This was something that was already an issue before we closed, but now good phone communication is necessary for us to operate. Please save our contact and try to answer when we call. We are calling about appointment scheduling and curbside check in. Client participation is necessary for the safety of all.
If you miss our call either email or call right back, and please be patient with us. Our normal “customer service” is anything but normal currently. We have had to cancel hundreds of appointments then reschedule twice when the opening dates kept getting moved. We also have many new OSHA & Health Department guidelines and a litany of new in salon protocols.
We value all of our wonderful guests but so many things in our world have changed in a short amount of time. We ask that everyone please remember customer service business will be different for awhile. We are under a microscope to do things a certain way so the level of service some may be used to , therefore expect- may not be realistic since we are more restricted, quite literally! We are are operating under “restrictions” so the same flexibility and patience we have always tried to provide, we ask for in return. We hope this is temporary but we are required to do our part so that becomes everyone’s reality sooner than later. If you need to reach us the best way to do so is via email and we will return your call. If there are certain times you can speak, please include that in the email.

Lakewood Set Hours
At Lakewood we are all working the same hours so we can work as a team to keep things going since both the location and the staff are smaller in size. Lakewood schedule until further notice is:
- Tuesday 10-6
- Wednesday 12-8
- Thursday 10-6
- Friday 10-6
- Saturday 10-4
*I will be downtown Tuesday and Thursday and at Lakewood Wednesday and Friday.
Masks and Temperature Taken
I’ve ordered face guards and they still haven’t arrived. Taking temp and wearing a mask are both strange for us! One thing we will do at both locations is take the temperature of staff and clientele with a hands free infrared thermometer as it’s recommended by the state if your business can’t socially distance. If someone’s temperature is over 100 degrees we will reschedule for a later time. I have tried working in a mask but I can’t see and I get a splitting headache. We will wear one upon request from a guest for up to an hour but for lengthier appointments like color, I personally don’t feel I can and still do “good work”.
We are working 12 hour days compared to an individual clients 1-3 hour visit, so If you want your stylist to wear a mask for your (haircut) or color application appointment, let us know in advance please. If you need a lengthier appointment and want your stylist to wear a mask the whole time, we will need to speak to your stylist in advance. We’ve been training by working on wearing masks and after a while some of us had had headaches or dizziness. I closed the salons before we were required to do so, I’m committed to our social responsibility. However, we aren’t healthcare providers, hair is optional, and our job can be physically exerting, especially when doing big color projects. There is some risk in resuming life. Personal risk mitigation is up to the individual. If one of my employees doesn’t feel they can work in a mask for an extended amount of time, I have to take their on the job health in consideration as well.
As mentioned above we are doing curbside check in to help limit the amount of people in the salon. Please wait in your car until someone from inside the salon calls or texts you to come in. The Please come in wearing a mask and go to lobby bathroom to wash your hands. We ask that you leave mask on until your stylist asks you to remove.
We are updating emails and card payment info for signature free paperless pay.
Every client must have an updated pre authorized card on file to avoid using pens and interaction required for cash and check payment. Our deposit of half of the service in advance is still the standard and we need updated email for everyone to send receipts by email. We have to remove any unnecessary paper items like magazines and tip envelopes. Please download Venmo in advance and have your venmo account set up for tips for your stylist or esthetician.
Appointment Confirmation now includes policy agreement & liability release.
The appointment confirmation email has a link to this page so when you confirm your appointment, you agree to signature free paperless pay, policies and release Studio 39 LLC of any responsibility/liability for COVID19 or any other post pandemic related health issues.
- Online booking for hair services at both locations are suspended until June.
- Skincare and waxing services are still available to book online at our downtown location.
- We will still offer express brow tint and face wax at Lakewood. Downtown all brow and wax services need to be booked with Bridget.
- Hair appointments will still require a deposit of half down. No refunds for appointment cancellation or rescheduling.
- If you or your stylist is sick or has a fever over 100 degrees, the deposit will be held for the next appointment.
- No walk in’s at this time, schedule by phone or email during business hours.
- We will not be doing makeup services or any on location service or any group hair and makeup events like bridal parties at this time.
- We aren’t double-booking clients and have extended appointment times to make sure the stylist has plenty of time to work and so that she can do her sanitation requirements.
- We will still offer coffee, tea, water, and wine, but ask that you bring your own cup for drinking.
- We ask that you come alone for your appointment. If you would like to book your child, please do so in a separate appointment. Children must be old enough to be in the salon without a parent as we will ask you to wait in the car to reduce the number of people in the salon.
We will be working until we open to get everyone booked. We are excited to see everyone!
