 Megan has hired almost all of our staff at both locations. In some ways, she knows what makes a better “Studio 39” stylist than I do. She supported me while I did my various projects and kept things going while I built the Lee’s Summit salon. Our working relationship is problem solving with humor.

Though I’ve tried making her a business partner many times, she laughs and says “who wants to own a salon?!” Funny because it’s true. Running a salon isn’t glamourous, but I can’t imagine Studio 39 without her.


Plus- she cuts my hair. Naturally I’d be lost without her.

From Salon Assistant to Salon Mentor 

Megan became a salon mentor because she was one of Gemy’s first assistants. Ranked first in the first graduating class at Paul Mitchell Academy KC, she began her career managing Gemy’s vast clientele and working side by side with her at a double booked fast pace. Things are done differently now, but during that time she learned Vidal Sassoon cutting techniques, multiple process color, and all extension methods. Additionally, she was lead stylist on editorial shoots, fashion week, and bridal parties for years. 

Salon Mentor To Manager

By the time she was 23, she was a Master Stylist with a large clientele,  personal assistants of her own and helped trained stylists twice her age. Paul Mitchell gave her special recognition in 2012 for her remarkable career success. Studio 39 holds 15 salon certifications in Gemy & Megan’s name, so stylists mentored & trained by them for those specialty services are certified at S39. Those include all hair extensions, advanced color work, keratin treatment and specialized haircutting. Because she helped shape service protocols used to this day, she remains Lead Master Stylist downtown and continues to train and help on the floor.

This year will mark 14 years with Studio 39, and she continues to serve staff as mentor and hiring manager, and salon guests exceptional customer service.
